Camp Hope is a one day camp held annually for school-aged children (5-12) who are grieving the death of a close loved one. Held in early summer at Point Mallard Park, Camp Hope is designed to help children learn how to recognize and express their grief feelings in a healthy manner. Games, crafts, group discussion, pet therapy, and a variety of activities allow children to explore their grief in a safe and supportive environment. Each camper is paired with a specially-trained adult buddy who shadows the camper throughout the event. Family members are invited to attend a memorial slide show and dove release at the end of the day.
We are always looking for volunteers to help with set-up, activities, and clean-up. Adult buddy volunteers (18+) are always welcome, but will be asked to attend special training prior to camp.
Registration is available on our website or you may call us at 256-350-5585. Ask for Theresa Davis or Brad Eades.
